Thirty four year old Yasmin Villanueva, who reported to police that she had fifty five thousand dollars in her Toyota Land Cruiser when it was repossessed, was charged with a mischievous act after the police investigated and concluded that her report was false.

Villanueva was arraigned today in the Magistrate's Court.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge. She was released on a bail of one thousand dollars and her case was adjourned until January 28th, 2011.

Villanueva, who resides at 75 Cemetery Road, reported to the police that at about 4:30p.m on Tuesday, November 30, sergeant Dianne Brown and Belize Bank employee Jason Skeen came to repossess her Land Cruiser. She said they did not give her a chance to remove all the items from the vehicle and she left fifty five thousand dollars cash in the console between the driver's seat and the front passenger seat.

She said she was allowed to check the Land Cruiser about 2 hours later and she discovered that the money was missing.
