Convicted Killer On The Loose
posted (February 3, 2011)
There's a convicted killer on the loose and he's believed to be on the move. Police are looking for 23 year old Miguel Matus after he escaped from custody while on a visit to the dental clinic in Belize City today.

It has the appearance of a coordinated getaway as Matus escaped in a 1999 of 2000 Grey Mitsubishi Galant. Police have not said if he sotle the car or if it was waiting for him.

Police believe he is heading to Honduras, quote, "by any means necessary." That would suggest that he would most likely be heading south - but police have not specified details. They have also not said whether he is considered armed and dangerous - but we note that he is serving time for a heinous murder of a teenaged girl.

That was in 2008 - after he was convicted of the 2006 murder of 17 year old Priscilla Tzib. It happened in Cristo Rey Village - the product of a family dispute. Priscilla was hauled out of the house, taken to the back and shot and killed. A ruthless murder and now the killer is on the loose. He is of hispanic descent, five feet ten inches tall and his last known address was Mabel Pitts street, Santa Elena Cayo.

He was last seen wearing a blue jeans, three quarter trousers and a blue t-shirt. Matus was serving life sentence and was eligible for parole in June 2019.

If you see him, call the nearest police station of 0-800-922-tips.

Crimestoppers has also offered a reward of $1000 for info leading to his arrest.
