Convicted killer and prison escapee Miguel Matus is still on the loose tonight - and authorities don't seem to have a clue as to his whereabouts. The 23 year old inmate who was serving a life sentence, escaped from prison wardens yesterday while he was attending a Dentist appointment in Belize City.
He slipped the guards and hopped into a waiting car which sped off. Police are investigating the possibility that there may have been collusion from one of the guards who was with him. Our reports are that the prison officer who escorted Matus has been working at the prison for at least 7 years.
Police are also now reporting that he is believed to be with his wife THELMA MATUS from Santa Elena Town, and two other persons.
Last night police said they believe he was headed to Honduras, which would indicate that he was going south.
