A Belize City taxi man reported to police that he was held up by two men who had hired his cab.
It happened sometime last night. According to Elmer Martinez, while driving on Albert Street, 2 men requested taxi service to Neal's Pen Road.
When he got close to the alley, one of the men told him to stop, and so he did. That was when Martinez saw 2 other men - both wearing black masks on their faces and each carrying a handgun ran up to his vehicle.
The men went on to rob him of his cell phone and his wallet containing personal documents. Martinez was then put in the trunk of his vehicle while his assailants drove off to an unknown location. When the vehicle came to a stop he managed to escape. That was when he realized that he was still in the Pen Road Area. Police are investigating.
