European visitor was almost mugged at gunpoint in broad daylight in the city yesterday.
It happened in the afternoon around 3:00, when Dutch Tourist THEODORUS PETERS a teacher from The Netherlands, was walking alone at the corner of King and Plues Streets, Belize City when he was approached by two dark complexion male persons, one of whom took out a black handgun and placed it to his stomach.
PETERS refused and a struggled ensued between him and the robbers. They got off with nothing but he had to be taken to the hospital for what are believed to be minor injuries…
