Cocaine Carrying Cruise Visitor

Timothy Brian Haag, a 32 year old American salesman who came to Belize City today on a cruise ship, pleaded guilty to possession of .08 grams of cocaine when he appeared in the #4 Magistrate's court.

Magistrate Roberto Ordonez fined him Five Hundred dollars and ordered him to pay forthwith, in default 5 months in prison. Haag paid the fine and was subsequently released.

He was caught when a Special Constable, acting on information received, stopped Haag in front of the Commercial Center on Regent Street and told him he would be searched. Haag then took a transparent plastic bag containing a white substance from his pants pocket, and gave it to the officer.
