An American Tourist named Cara Bray is in the Belize Medical Associates Hospital tonight suffering serious injury after a jet skiing accident near San Pedro this morning.
She was flown to Belize City this afternoon around 2:30 and taken into a waiting ambulance for transfer to Medical Associates.
According to the San Pedro Sun, the accident happened in the waters of the Boca Chica area shortly before 11:30am.
Her husband Jack Bray told the island newspaper that he and Cara were on the Jet Ski with his wife on the back seat, when they collided into a jet ski in front of them. Cara Bray was flung off the ski and hurled into the sea.
A passing water taxi picked her up and transported her to the San Pedro PolyClinic II.
The paper quotes attending physician, Dr. Otto Rodriguez, who said that Bray was complaining of a severe pain in her back.
