GSU Makes A Bust Of Fake Driver’s License Operation
posted (April 5, 2011)
The next four stories are about the suddenly controversial gang suppression unit: the first story is about a recent success, the second about a controversy, the third, their side of that controversy, and fourth, the bigger controversy, whether the recent weekend murders were a retaliation by George Street against the GSU.

We start with a neat investigative coup by the GSU. A search of 49b Neal's Pen Road- which is a property linked to the George Street Gang - on Sunday morning turned up what looks like a home - made manufacturing base for driver's licenses. Police searched the apartment of a 33 year old where they found a Belize City Department of Transport Stamp and Stamp Pad, plastic sheets used for laminating along with processed Belize Drivers Licenses as well as computer paraphernalia used in this process.

Police believe that the man found is involved in the production of fake Belize Driver's licenses. He was detained but to our knowledge has not been charged.
