Hattieville war of words….
posted (April 20, 2011)
The chairman of the Hattieville Village council, Gilbert Domingo is under public pressure tonight. Patricia Myvett has accused him of shooting up her home because he was jealous that she had a new boyfriend - after their relationship ended.

Now, Chairman Domingo is a married man, and this type of private story would not normally make the news - and it almost didn't. But a police report has been made, and her house was genuinely shot up, while a small child was inside. Still, even with all that, the allegations ar e loaded and we had to wait until Domingo agreed to an interview this evening. So here are both sides of the story:…

Patricia Myvett
"My boyfriend was lying down - not yet fast asleep and I got up because I heard Mr. Domingo car approaching the area. the car had a distinct sound so therefore I was conscious that it was it. When I got up I saw him in his car. I try to see whether it was he alone in the car, it seem that he was alone but the way that my house is situated - it had a street going this way and that way so I saw him coming this way and when I see him pass and went away far. I lie down and like three minutes after I hear my house ringing with gunshots. The thing is apparently they were aiming for my bed where he probably thought I would be but only my three year baby was in the bed and the actual bullet misses him by 2 inches from his head. The bullet holes are in the wall. The police came by and found one of the pellets and they wrote down what they had to and then they left."

Monica Bodden
"How many gunshots you heard?"

Patricia Myvett
"About 6 or more."

Monica Bodden
"Why would you think that the accused would want to do this to you?"

Patricia Myvett
"Because he had been threatening me. I had an altercation with before whereby he went to my job site and choke me. He took my phone away earlier that morning and stuff like that. He went at my job to lay wait me and because I see him there I call the police and so the police came by and took us to the Queen Street Police Station where I left a report saying that he was threatening me. I know for a fact that he have a wife and have other people so I told him so many times that this was not the way I wanted my life to be. This can't be my life, I need to do something for me, I deserve better and everybody around me deserve better. Sometimes he understands and other times it's like he have split personality."

Gilbert Domingo, Chairman - Hattieville "The evening when this thing supposed to happen I was around in the village and I met her earlier that day in Belize City and we talk and it was no big deal. For some reason she said there was a thing that her boyfriend was coming up so I don't know what happen, the bus was coming up and I went behind the bus, I had somebody on my bike taking the person to the same area where she live. I did know she was on the bus, she said that I follow her. I got witness that I was taking a young lady and her baby home. During the course of the evening - a police officer who I am friends with wanted a ride to 8 miles so what I did was offer him a ride in my car to 8 miles, this was around 10 o' clock or shortly after 10. While on my way to 8 miles the hood of my car blow up and we turn around and I decide that I will use my bike instead because the car was not going to work."

"When I drop off the officer at the roadside and I went to go get the bike at my house. I told him to wait at the roadside maybe he can get a passage to 8 miles while he with on me. This is after 10 going on 11. After being in the house maybe like 20 - 25 minutes I took a shower after my wife and I came out on the couch to sit down. My daughter was washing the dishes when the phone rang, this young lady call and say that 'I hope that you are satisfy and that your mission is accomplish because somebody just shoots up my house and you always was saying that if someone shot you house you will be in your house in bed and stuff like that' well that was preliminary talk back when we were just friends talking and joking. Now she call me in my house to notify me of this shooting and I notice on TV she is saying that I was the one that was there."

Monica Bodden
"She is saying that she had a relationship with you."

Gilbert Domingo, Chairman - Hattieville
"I heard this for three years she mentioning this relationship thing. I don't know if she call knowing each other or being friend with each other a relationship or I don't know how she takes it but her and I always maintain a smooth relationship with no problem at all as friends."

Monica Bodden
"As friends? Just as friends?"

Gilbert Domingo, Chairman - Hattieville
"As friends and you know from time to time we would talk a little more extensive and other little things and be friends but there was nothing there to implicate that or to say that we were promising to spend our lives together or any of that kind of stuff."

"One of the concern I have is that when she mention to me that when she is finish with me not even my wife would want me, simply indicates to me that this is a mission. All the stuff that she put out is stuff that you could get pass, its stuff that happens in friendship, some of it and some don't but it's not to the seriousness of this. This has become so serious that I had to seek legal representation, because now my name is out there in this kind of manner and I am a representative of this village. So this is being outright a vindictive move as I am concern. Like she said that she is not going to stop until somebody; either I go to jail or somebody will pay because she believes that I am responsible."

The drama continued this evening after that interview when there was allegedly a scuffle between the two at a local store and police had to be called…
