Operations have again ground to a halt at the Tower Hill Sugar Factory where a boiler has stopped working. That is the second BELCOGEN boiler to spring a leak in two days.
So, the factory shut down at 7:00 last night and is not taking any more deliveries until further notice - most likely sometime next week after the visit of a foreign boiler expert.
And while that delay is causing some worry, more serious concern stems from the fact that the crop may come to an end earlier than expected because the harvest was less than expected.
