Agriculture Gets Spanking New Vehicles
posted (May 30, 2011)
The Belize Agriculture Health Authority (BAHA) and the National Coordinating Committee for Research and Development (NCCARD) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries today received ten spanking new pick-up trucks. It's part of the IDB funded Agriculture Services Programme, a 5.5 million US dollar project.

The vehicles will be used for agricultural services outreach with a view to exporting agricultural and livestock products from Belize. The BAHA trucks will be used for retrieving and compiling information in what a release refers to as "the imminent implementation of the cattle sweep in the proposed export of cattle to Mexico and the region." That's been promised for years, but educated estimates say exportation to Mexico - with its stringent animal health standards - is also years from happening.
