On Friday night in Teakettle, there was a terrible accident on the corner known as dead man's curve which is between miles 53 and 54 on the Western highway.
Just before 9:00 pm, 23 year old Giovanni Baiza was driving a Meliun motorcycle around the famous "S" curve on the edge of a cliff, when he lost control and went over the edge, tumbling down the side of the cliff to his death.
There was another accident on the highway this weekend - and though it looked serious when this RAV went over the edge of the northern highway into the river near mile six and a half, - luckily, no one was seriously hurt.
Around 2 am on Sunday morning, 6 people were in the vehicle heading from Belize City to Ladyville. Driver Josean Kay, a 19 year told police that a vehicle came into their lane with high beams, and he lost control and plunged into the river.
Only minor injuries were reported….
