A Belize City man was murdered around 7:45 on Friday night. 32 year old Delbert Hinds, known as Sniper was at a house at the corner of Kraal Road and Supaul Street along with a friend socializing - when the friend went inside her home and left him on the verandah. Just seconds after, several gunshots were heard. Hinds was seen lying face down with gunshot wounds to the left side off his back, left side of his upper abdomen and right upper arm. He died on the spot. Today his sisters spoke with 7news. They asked to appear off camera.

"He was with his friends laughing, drinking, and talking as friends. They drunk him and they shot him. They chance him out of his life - that is the understanding that we get."

"How many shots he received?"

"I don't know. We don't really know anything yet."

"No police haven't come here yet?"

"No police or nobody, only the news people. You know you are with an amount of friends and you don't expect something like that - it's like you and laughing and talking and drinking with me and you are plotting my death. They chance him out of his life because he is a person that likes to laugh and talk and have fun. He is a person that goes anywhere."

"No, he use to stay here at home. He is everywhere and so if he did anybody anything it would have happen from a long time ago, so why now?"

"I won't lie, he was in a gang. But at that time he was not involve in any gang."
Police have detained 3 men for questioning. Delbert Hinds was the father of a 10 year old son. His brother Levan Hinds was gunned down on September 10 of 1999 on Kraal Road when he was only 18 years old.
