Grieving Mother Danalyn Murrillo Charged
posted (June 27, 2011)
You'll probably recall Danalyn Murillo, she's the 46 year old mother who lost her son Teddy in Match of 2010 in a still unsolved murder. Multiple accounts have said that he was killed by a police officer. Well, in March of this year, Danalyn Murillo - still full of grief and outrage saw the police constable for the first time, and allegedly had a confrontation with him. It happened at a political convention where she allegedly pointed at him and called him a murderer.

The police officer made a criminal complaint and after three months, on Friday, Danalyn Murillo was served with the notice that she is to appear in court on a charge of using insulting words and common assault of Constable David Griffith. She was arraigned today in court and pleaded not guilty. We spoke to her attorney Dickie Bradley outside the courtroom - where he said it's a trivial matter that's being blown up:…

Dickie Bradley, attorney
"The unfortunate situation with this is that the complainant is the police officer with whom there was a complaint that he was involved in the shooting death of Ms. Murillo's son. It's a lot of cross threads in the matter."

Jules Vasquez
"Is it a nuisance charge in your opinion?"

Dickie Bradley, attorney
"If you say that Ms. Danalyn Murillo who is an upstanding and outstanding citizen committed a common assault of a police officer, he must be a weak police officer to make a lady common assault you. Surely we don't need to go that route. There is bad blood clearly and that police officer will feel very strongly because of he allegations that are being made against him but there must be people higher up who can say there is no need to go down this road. It doesn't clear up the situation it just makes it worst."

Bradley also alleged a cross conspiracy because Murillo's nephew Patrick Menzies was recently in a mix up with police which left him brutally beaten.
