ARMED ROBBERS HIT NORTHERN HIGHWAY BUSINESS
posted (July 29, 2011)
At the time of this afternoon's shooting, Belize City police officers were still processing the scene of an armed robbery on the Northern Highway. Around twelve thirty, the employee payroll of the Belize Recycling Company was stolen by two armed and masked men. According to witnesses, while one of the perpetrators stood guard with what is believed to be a point thirty eight revolver, the other put another gun to the head of one of the employees and forced him to point out the cash pan. The men also stole a cell phone before making their getaway. The frightened employees say they believe that the armed robbers are two men that had visited the establishment a month ago expressing interest in selling copper to the company.
