But despite the good police work, the upsurge of violence in the Lake Independence area continued last night.
23 year old Troy Bowen is lucky to be alive after he was shot in the face.
It happened at 9:10 on Black Orchid Street when the stevedore was standing talking to a female and he heard several shots come out of nowhere. He was shot to the right side of his head below the temple, but somehow survived.
Bowen, remarkably, is in a stable condition and declined our request for an interview.
So far for this year, in March and in May, two men have been killed on the same side of Black Orchid Street - which is only about 500 feet long.
