Police Re-Charge Leon Leslie
posted (August 11, 2011)
Twenty-eight year old UB Lecturer Leon Leslie, from whom a charge of kept prohibited material was dismissed, was re-arrested and charged with the same offence today in the #6 Magistrate's Court. Leslie was released on a bail of $2,000. His case was adjourned until August 25.

His attorney, Ellis Arnold, said on the adjournment date he will make submissions because 6 months has passed since the incident has occurred and it was statute barred. But according to the prosecution the matter is a hybrid offence.

On January 16, the police searched the back of a gold pathfinder and reported that they found a camouflage bullet proof vest.

The charge was dismissed in the #2 Magistrate court because the case was set for final adjournment and the arresting officer PC Ian Galvez failed to appear in court.
