MAS CAMP CONTINUES…
posted (August 30, 2011)
And since last Wednesday we've been taking you into the different mas camps as these carnival bands prepare for the road march on Saturday September third. Last night our news team stopped by the pickstock carnival band where the energy was pumping.

Garrett Gill, leader Pickstock Carnival Band
"With lack of finance, we should say, we are displaying the story of battle - simply based on only the Baymen not the Spaniards. The first group which is the green section which is this - this is the Baymen they are Baymen that fought, simply explaining that they fight. Literally they did not fight as in fight but I could say that the Baymen got afraid of the fight. So after that the Baymen fight and they decided to return to their log wood cutting. Which is the second section, after the second section, they decided to nationalize Belize by giving us our independence. After the third section, whereby they nationalize, they all decided to celebrate - and that how it comes to be a rainbow color which is celebration. This year Pickstock has ninety children, last year we accommodated 105, but like what I say, this year I must big up Phillip Willoughby, Sedi Elrington all the way, Belize Waste Control, Auto Rental or Auto Wash, the parents of the Pickstock carnival band and children, my whole neighborhood Ms. Monica, Raheem and others and also myself for being the band leader."
