Two Accidents In A Day
posted (September 15, 2011)
There were two traffic accidents on the Western highway today. The first one occurred in the village of Cotton Tree around one o'clock this afternoon.

The driver of a Belize Water Service pick-up truck lost control of the vehicle and careened into a ditch on the side of the road. Luckily for him, he escaped with minor injuries. But the entire front of the truck was completely damaged.

And around 5:30 this evening, there was another road accident. This time between the Coastal Road Junction and the Belize Zoo. A Ford pickup truck traveling to Belize City experienced a front wheel blow out - which caused the vehicle to run off the road down the embankment.

Traveling in the truck at the time was the driver and 3 other passengers - one of whom was sitting in the pan of the pick-up truck. He was flung out and was found by police yards away from the truck. He was put into an ambulance and taken to Belize City for treatment. According to the owner of the pickup truck, the man's shoulder was broken. The driver escaped unhurt but the other 2 passengers at the front were also taken away to the hospital. We understand they received some abrasions.
