The 74 year old died this morning in Belize City from complications due to a massive stroke he had on Saturday morning. Taegar returned to Belize from Jamaica in 1971 and worked in public health and at his private clinic. He always had his clinic on the southside and was well regarded by the community.

He rose to prominence as a public intellectual when he became one of the original panelists of the Kremandala Show in 1994. He was on that weekly programme for a decade or so.
