28 year old Mexican National Fernando Jonathan Sanchez Ramirez was busted with crack cocaine and marijuana at the Phillip Goldson International on Tuesday.
Yesterday, he was charged with drug trafficking and possession of a controlled drug.
He had 1.6 grammes of crack and 5.3 grammes of cannabis.
Ramirez wanted to plead guilty but because he said the drugs were for his own use, Magistrate Albert Hoare entered a plea of not guilty for drug trafficking. He remanded Ramirez until Monday, October 17th.
Ramirez who is a businessman from Mexico City came to Belize from El Salvador Via Phillip Godson International. A search f his baggage resulted in the discovery of the drugs.
