No Force Armourer, Gun Charge Falls Aside
posted (December 29, 2011)
Forty two year old Vanzie Lamb, a resident of Jane Usher Boulevard charged with kept firearm and ammunition without a gun license, was freed of both charges when they were dismissed today in the Magistrate's Court.

Magistrate Albert Hoare dismissed the charges due to insufficient evidence after the matter was only part heard. Apparently the Force Armorer, whose evidence is critical to the prosecution's case, was not available to testify. The incident occurred on February 1, 2011. The police reported that when they searched Lamb's residence they found a box containing 56 9 mm rounds, and a 9 millimeter pistol in the yard near to a septic tank.

So where is the force armourer since this is the second case we've reported on in two days that got thrown out because of his absence? According to the police press officer, he is studying abroad.
