Prince Harry at Belmopan Streetfest
posted (February 14, 2012)
Prince Harry's visit to Belize is all set for March second and third.

He will be in Belize for just 23 and a half hours - but according to the Foreign Affairs protocol office - it should be the best stop he makes on his Caribbean Tour of the Bahamas, Jamaica and Belize:..

Diana Locke - Ministry of Foreign Affairs
"We have decided to promote Belize, basically, giving Prince Harry a best of Belizean lifestyle, culture, and what we have to offer from a Tourism perspective. That was of keen interest to the representatives that came here to meet with us. And, from the little that I have seen, I think that our program offers something extremely exciting for him, as opposed to some of his other stops. I'm not say that they are not going to be good, but I think that we're going to be offering the best option. He is coming to Belize to represent Her Majesty, the Queen, in respect to the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. It's not the kind of visit that we've done for Princess Anne and Prince Andrew, who came to Belize. This is different. It's a more relaxed visit. It's not as official as all the others. There is very little official activity in this visit, and I think that's the way they like to keep it. On the Friday of his arrival, we're doing a street party in Belmopan where they're naming the boulevard after her Majesty, the Queen. And that's where we're going to have all our cultural entertainment, the party, the local food - that sort of stuff. The entire Belizean population, country-wide, is invited to that event. There are no invitations necessary. We will start from 4 o'clock in the evening. The party is expected to begin. People will be screened when they are going in. And it will run until 10 o'clock in the night. There will also be the drive from the airport, going through Ladyville, though the Boom Road into Belmopan. Unfortunately, he is not going to be able to come into Belize due to the time constraints. So, we're using that route. People on the streets can actually be out there. We expect that they will slow down, and he will be looking at the villages, as we generally do. And of course, you won't be able to miss the motorcade."

After the cultural street fest in Belmopan - the Prince will travel to Cayo where on Saturday he will visit the OAS adjacency Zone office and then Xunantunich...
