40 year-old Dennis Brown, a resident of Rock Stone Pond Village, was
arraigned for aggravated assault when he appeared in Magistrate's Court
today. He was charged with attempting to stab Christopher Lamb.
Lamb reported to police that at around 6:45 yesterday evening, he was
riding on Pitter Street when Brown stopped him and confronted him for being
on that street.
When he gave his answer, Brown allegedly pulled out a knife tried to stab
him 3 times, but he was able to dodge the blade, jump back on his bike and
scurry away.
He then went to the nearest police station, reported to incident, and
officers arrested Brown quickly.
In addition to the aggravated assault, Brown was charged with threatening
words which he uttered when he tried to stab Lamb.
Brown initially pleaded guilty to the charges, but when the facts were read
to him, he said that he had a baby in his hand at the time, and that the
accused was lying.
As a result, Magistrate Sherigne Rodgriguez entered him in to an equivocal
not guilty plea and granted him bail of $3,000. He is to return to court on
April 25.
