So far there has been no retaliation between George Street and Taylor's Alley after both their bosses were killed this weekend. But as the communities of Taylor's Alley and George street get ready to bury their leaders - gun violence continues to plague the city.
A man was shot just after 5:00 this evening - and again, it happened on a busy, much trafficked street at rush hour.
Several shots rang out on Freetown Road at its junction with Kelly Street. A gunman rode out of Lancaster Street and shot Jermaine Garnett, known as Horse of Caesar Ridge Road.
The extent of his injuries is not known at this time - but he was rushed to the KHMH.
Garnett's wife was buying in the Freetown drug store when Garnett - who was parked - was shot.
The proprietor of the drug store told us more about the shooting:..
Raul Asevedo, Owner - Freetown Drug Store
"About 5 minutes after she was here she yelled that her husband got shot and she ran out. I didn't see anything. I went outside and saw the crowd out there. She was crying because she knew that her husband got shot."

"It was her husband indeed?"
Raul Asevedo, Owner - Freetown Drug Store
"It was her husband. I don't know her husband's and but I know her name is Pamela."

"It happened right in front of your business?"
Raul Asevedo, Owner - Freetown Drug Store
"Yes because the vehicle was parked in front of the business. Her husband parked the vehicle and she came out of the vehicle and into the drug store. While filling her prescription she sat down and waited."
"While waiting we heard the gunshot, one shot. When we heard it her reaction was "my husband got shot" and she ran outside."
"I feel bad because this is my business; these guys are messing up my business. Heck, I am here all day trying to make a little bit of money and then this happens. Crime is out of control, something has to be done. They are talking about giving these people a job so that they can do something for themselves - we got to do something. It could have been me or anybody in this place; it could have been my son."
The drug store's surveillance camera picked up a man on a bicycle riding towards Garnett's vehicle - and police are reviewing that footage.
Garnett was shot under the left armpit and is in a stable condition.
It is notable that this shooting happened just up the street from another, which occurred yesterday morning when Codrington Bodden was shot in the face and survived.
Street sources say the two events may be related to a personality in the area who was involved in an illicit transaction.
