Tony Quinn - you may remember him as the Irish spiritual guru who once led the Musa Administration in a retreat at Caye Chapel.
Well, his connect to the Blue Crew was through Belize Natural Energy, and its Irish directors, Sheila McCaffery and Susan Morrice, colloquially referred to as "Sally and Susy."
They once were a team in body corporate and mind, but that ship has sailed and now it seems like every one's suing everyone else over the money made in the Spanish Lookout oil field.
The story of the multiple lawsuits is long and boring, but what did catch our attention was one bit that was reported today in the Irish Times.
Under cross examination by Mcaffery's attorney, Quinn, who was also a director of parent company International Natural Energy disclosed that a fear of becoming a victim of a kidnapping prompted him to ask the oil company to provide security costing almost $1.3 million US dollars for a five-month period.
Quinn said he was sure he wasn't the only director for whom security had been provided.
McCaffrey claims the company - whose only oil field is in Belize - has been mismanaged since she was ousted as a director in 2007 and claims Quinn and Susan Morrice, have diverted revenues for their own benefit.
The case is being heard in the commercial division of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
