Under cross examination by Mcaffery's attorney, Quinn, who was also a director of parent company International Natural Energy disclosed that a fear of becoming a victim of a kidnapping prompted him to ask the oil company to provide security costing almost $1.3 million US dollars for a five-month period.

Quinn said he was sure he wasn't the only director for whom security had been provided. McCaffrey claims the company - whose only oil field is in Belize - has been mismanaged since she was ousted as a director in 2007 and claims Quinn and Susan Morrice, have diverted revenues for their own benefit.
