For all those dart enthusiasts in Belize, the 19th annual Caribbean Cup and the 6th America's Cup are being held in the city.
It is the first time Belize is hosting the competition and a large number of players from across the globe are in the country competing. The tournament opened on Saturday and today the 6th America's Cup competition came to an end. We found out more about it from the Dart Czar Malcolm Spicer:..

"These are the finals now. We had all the knockouts and individual rounds last night. We have the finals todays of the Americas Cup and right now we have Trinidad playing Canada and we have Bahamas playing USA and the winners of those two will go into the finals this afternoon which will be up here on the stage and then we have the individuals knockout tournaments; the men and ladies singles taking place today as well. In those the ladies are USA and Canada. The men's - we have one Bahamas man and the rest is USA and Canada, they got very strong teams."
"Later on today we have the finals of all the Americas Cup. Tomorrow night we have registration of teams and then starting on Wednesday we have a full schedule from 9 in the morning to probably 6 or 7 in the evening where all the countries play each other - it's a big round and so it goes on all week long both team events and individual events."
"Also the winners of the men singles gets world darts federation ranking points and so that's very important, that's goes all over the world, it gets on the world darts federation website, magazines and so it will be announced worldwide of this tournament today."

"We had to go through a series of tries process, it takes couple of months because of the different islands that we have - it's separated a lot like yours. What happen is that one island has to do their thing and then eventually we have to get all the winners together and play against each other and so that takes a little bit of time because we have to fly over and so forth, but we make it a very fun thing and by April we know who our team is going to be, so its long process, it's very hard."

"What are expectations like?"

"We came here with a team that kind of like a lot of the top that actual qualifiers couldn't make it for various reasons and so the people who had to step for them, but as it turn out the people that step in for them actually have more experience than the ones that actually made the team. We hope it doesn't hurts us that much, but as far as expectations are concern with the Americas Cup which is going on right now - just to get to semi-finals is a great accomplishment which we have done. We are playing the US right now and we
won 2 matches against them so that's not so bad. We are still fighting along trying to get there but as far as that is concern we've met our expectations there and we are hoping to go a little farther. As far as the Caribbean Cup is concern - I think every country comes here to win, we are definitely here to win. We've won it 6 times; we lost in 2006, so we've come to win just like everybody else. We still have to play the game."
