McAfee Wants to Go Home, Will Guatemala Let Him?
posted (December 10, 2012)
John McAfee remains in a Immigration holding facility in Guatemala City - but tonight, one thing has changed; he's asking to be taken back to his home in the US.

That's a sharp change if direction from a few weeks ago when McAfee had an outlaw fantasy and said he wanted to fight corruption in Belize.

On Sunday afternoon, he had a sort of electronic webcast from the holding facility where he answered a few questions via email. Here's how he explained his new longing for his home:..

We do know that McAfee was visited by US Embassy Officials in Guatemala city today. No telling how that will go, but the standard practice - in this country and Guatemala - is that when an illegal immigrant is caught they are deposited in the country from which they originated on their journey - in this case that would be Belize. Belize has also indicated via diplomatic note that authorities here want to interview McAfee as a person of interest.

ACP Aragon elaborated on that today:..

ACP Elodio Aragon, O/C Eastern Division
"We are just waiting for Mr. McAfee so we could interview him properly and from there the investigation will carry on."

Reporter
"You have no suspects in this murder?"

ACP Elodio Aragon, O/C Eastern Division
"Other than wanting to speak with McAfee for now, I am not too sure if there is any other names that came up as yet."

And more of Mcafee's former associates have gotten bail for their firearms charges. 2 weeks ago, we told you about John McAfee's Chief of Security, William Mulligan, who the Supreme Court granted bail to for firearm offences. Well, now all of McAfee's employees and associates, Alberto Chacon, Eduvijes "Eddy" Ancona, and Cassian Chavarria, are all out on bail also.

As reported, on Sunday, November 11, police searched McAfee's home on Northern Ambergris Caye while investigating the death of his neighbor, Gregory Faull. During that search, officers found a 12 gauge Remington pump action shot gun which was loaded with ammunition, a Baikal brand 12 gauge single action shot gun, and a belt containing twenty two 12 gauge cartridges.

As a result, police charged Chacon and Ancona with lending a firearm without the permission from the Commissioner of Police. Chavarria was charged with keeping and unlicensed firearm.

Attorney Ellis Arnold, who represents all 3 men, took their bail petitions to court on Friday of last week before Justice Troadio Gonzalez.

There were no objections from the DPP's Office, so Justice Gonzalez granted all 3 men bail of $6,000.
