And as we mentioned this is cancer awareness month and as a part of
its observance, yesterday the Belmopan Branch of the Cancer Society broke ground
on a cancer treatment center and hospice.
Minister of Health Vildo Marin was in attendance joined by Belmopan
City Mayor Tony Chanona and cancer survivor Bridget Cullerton. Construction
on the Cancer Center should start later this year and the society hopes it will
be completed within the next two years. The building site is in the Mountain
View area of Belmopan City.
