Wayne Samuels Caught Up In Civil Court
posted (June 10, 2013)
He's a well-known operator, and a smooth one at that, but Wayne Samuels seems to have run out of schemes to run and strings to pull this weekend when he was arrested on the strength of a committal warrant. It seems Samuels – who is a business facilitator – has incurred fairly substantial debts all over the place. A few of his creditors have been after him for some time for failing to deliver on promised items – and on Friday evening police finally caught up to him.

All the cases are civil matters, so he appeared in Belize City Municipal Court this morning – where as we understand it, he was ordered to pay half the debts – amounting to thousands of dollars by the end of the day – as part payment of his outstanding overall debt. We could not get confirmed word from the court and we could not reach Samuels whose number was out of service – but late reports tell us that he was having difficulty making that lump-sum payment up to late this evening. We have received credible reports that others are lining up to make similar claims against him.

We spoke to Samuels last week Friday and he told us that he was outstanding a few licenses and permits he had promised persons – and was working on getting them refunds.

Wayne Samuels is the brother of City Councilor, Dean Samuels.
