And in Belize City a young man is lucky to be alive after he was nearly
crushed to death in this minivan.
Police report that at about 3:30 on Sunday morning, Rohel Augilar was between
miles two and three on the Northern Highway when he made a left turn into Juliet
Soberanis street. That's when Caldwell Mejia driving a Dodge Ram Pickup slammed
into the side of his minivan. Augilar was trapped in the driver's seat and received
serious injury while his passenger was treated and released.
Mejia was not hurt, but refused to supply a specimen to test his alcohol
level and he has been charged for that offence.
