Tony Wright Wants Kids To Feel Fathers Day
posted (June 14, 2013)
Sunday is father's day and Promoter and Musician Tony Wright is organizing his fifth annual Father's Day Song Competition and Concert. But this year, there's a change. He recruited the involvement of the Ministry of Education and gotten high schoolers to participate. The rule is they have to write inspiring songs about fathers – which they'll perform with a band. Wright explained:..

Tony Wright - Promoter, Father's Day Concert
"First it started with mothers and we didn't have any problem with that but we definitely thought that Dad needed some love also. We have a lot of dads out there that put out their all for their children and so it's all about Dad and we wanted them to write lyrical content concerning Dads. We didn't want anything with 'deadbeat dad' we wanted something with upliftment with Dad. They will have a variety of music, some will sing reggae, some will sing rap and some will do punta so it's a variety of different music." ‘

The concert will be on Saturday night at 7:30 at the Bliss Center.

The first place winner will win a thousand dollars – plus get a thousand dollar scholarship.
