Armed Xatero’s Detained Deep Inside Belize
posted (June 17, 2013)
Two weeks ago the BDF shot Guatemalan Edgar Alexander Alveno in the Chiquibul but the incursions continue, and on Friday night at 7:30, a joint forces team of Belize law enforcement officers detained two armed Guatemalan men who were about to cross the main Caracol Road – which is well into Belizean territory, more than five miles in. They are 24 year old Adelmo Hernandez Mancia, of La Rejoya, Guatemala and 35 year old Rolando Ramirez of Dolores, Peten. The had two guns, a .38 revolver and a 16 gauge shot gun, both weapons loaded.

They were found with 5 shotgun cartridges and 3 rounds of (.38) revolver ammunition, as well as 64.6 grams of cannabis, which is about two ounces.

And even though they were deep into Belizean territory, the pair were heading further east into the Chiquibul interior seeking xate leaves and hunting for game species.

They were detained and taken to the San Ignacio Police Station where they were formally charged for keeping a firearm without a gun license, keeping ammunition without a license and drug trafficking.
