posted (July 9, 2013)
And so while, everyone digests that decision, those following the match have many different opinions on how the team will perform.

While waiting on the team, Jules got a chance to sample public opinion in Portland, and here's what they told him of their expectations:

Reporter
"From when have you been planning this trip?"

Dorian Arnold - Albuquerque New Mexico
"From the moment that they qualified for the tournament we started planning for the trip, I contacted my friends and said we got to go to Portland, we got to support the team and we got to get some jersies. We are trying very hard to get some jersies to show our Belizean pride but from day one we knew we were going to be here to support the team and the country"

Reporter
"And how you expect the game to turn out tomorrow night?"

Ellis Arzu - San Diego
"Well, you know, I believe the strategy given, Belize first time here will be a defensive one and hopefully we could counter attack. I am hoping for a 1 nil Belize or atleast a draw at minimum, that's my goal."

Dion Peyrefitte - Belize City
"Yeah, well I saw the team today and saw the members of the team and everyone seem so loose and relaxed, confident but humble so I think we will have a good show."

Jules Vasquez
"You all are now residing in the United States but you are from Belize"

Ellis Arzu
"That's not even a consideration, as a matter of fact the term that the media in Belize likes to use, 'Belizean American' , I don't personal use that, just say Belizean."

Dion Peyrefitte
"100 percent, definitely."

Dorian Arnold
"We are visiting the US for a bit until we go back home"

Jules Vasquez
"How will you all make yourself heard and seen at tomorrows' game?"

Ellis Arzu
"Because we were unable to get jersies from Belize we created our own jersies so you will be able to see the Belizean emblem and the colors and it's going to be about six, seven of us in a row, twelve of us in a row which means that the Belizean team should be able to see us and see the support that we bring."

Dorian Arnold
"And the one thing that Belizeans are well known for is what? A very very big mouth, we have a big mouth so I think we could out number the US crowd just with noise."

Dion Peyrefitte
"We were able to get a couple jersies today, it's just, you know, very close to our hearts, collectors items so we definitely going to wear them and wear them proudly."

Jules Vasquez
"Why did you all feel it important to come this great distance?"

Ivana Ayuso - Dallas
"Anywhere Belize goes we will follow."

Lisha Celis - Dallas
"Yes Belizean all the way"

Giovanni Celis - Dallas
"Support Belize, 'done seh it'

Omar Ayuso - Dallas
"We are the biggest footabll fans from Dallas"

Jules Vasquez
"Since when have you guys been planning this trip"

Margie Rivas Ayuso - Dallas
"We have been doing fundraising for the team so we have to follow"

Jules Vasquez
"How did that go?"

Margie Rivas Ayuso
"Fundraising? It went pretty good. We managed to raise 1,000 dollars"

Ivana Ayuso
"We sold 100 plates of barbeque"

Gabriel Marin - Dallas
"Belzean style barbeque."

Omar Ayuso
"And this is one of the biggest success stories that the national football team has ever achieved, this is the highest we have every reached. So I just want to say 'one love' to all Belizean fans and hopefully we could sort out all the problems that we are having at the top, eventually I think we will, because we have made some big strides."

Jules Vasquez
"How will you all make your presence at the stadium tomorrow, you know Belizeans will be a vast minority?"

Omar Ayuso
"Each one of us brought about three flags each, we will make enough noise."

Margie Rivas Ayuso
"We have banners, posters, they won't miss us."

Gabriel Marin
"Most of all we have the spirit."

And Just a few minutes ago, Jules went out to the field to see what the atmosphere is like, and he provided a look into the pre-game hype.
