Corozal Man Stabbed To Death
posted (December 20, 2013)
There is a murder to report in Chan Chen - which is the northern most village in the country. It is the second this year in the small village near the Mexican border.

28 year-old Darwin Salazar was found this morning, sometime before 7 on the main road to the village. He had multiple stab wounds to the neck, and at this time, police have no suspects.

CTV3 News in the north is reporting that Salazar was last seen by his brothers in Corozal Town at around5 o'clock yesterday evening. Salazar was reportedly invited to one of the casinos in the Corozal Free Zone, and that's the last time he was seen alive.

A check of our archives show that in February 2007, Salazar was charged for the May 2006 murder of 30 year-old Adonai Espat. Espat was assaulted and chopped multiple times to the head and chest on a Mayan mound at the Santa Rita Temple, outside of Corozal Town. Salazar was not convicted.
