Tonight, Jason Soup Williams is at the Hattieville Prison after he was arraigned in court today on multiple counts of aggravated assault.

As we told you last night, Williams is the main suspect in a shooting where a gunman opened fire on two men who were sitting on the stairs of a residence at the corner of King Street and West Canal. That is considered George Street territory - and Williams is the leading figure from Supal Street.

Police say that led to the following morning's retaliatory murder of Tariq Cadle who is from Supal Street is and Soup Williams's nephew and neighbor. But though he was tied to Supal, 25 year old Cadle was known to hang out with the George Street crew. He was doing that yesterday morning when he was killed as a direct retaliation for the suspected Soup Williams attack on King Street.

In that event, 23 year old Kariq Tzul who was shot twice in the leg and 27 year old Andrew Tate who was shot six times all over his body. Both are still in the hospital and both are now listed in stable condition. Tate is under police guard.

And so, while police continue to try to find evidence which connects him to the King Street, attack, he went to court today for allegedly shooting at 2 police officers who responded to the shooting.

According to Police Constables Elvin Nah and Jason Augustine, they heard shots being fired near the King Street area that night, and when they responded, they allegedly spotted Soup Williams fleeing the scene. According to the Constables, when they set chase, Williams turned his gun on them and fired several shots, which they were able to dodge, and they returned fire, but also missed.

Because of their report, Williams was charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault, and discharging a firearm in public, and he was arraigned today before the Chief Magistrate. Due to the nature of the offenses, he was remanded into custody until his next court date, which is set for March 20.
