But don't blame the Mexicans - BEL says there was damage to a major structure on the transmission system in a remote area near Buena Vista, in the Corozal District. That system links Belize to CFE's power - and when it tripped, it caused the entire system to collapse.
BEL used standby generators to restore power supply.
Power supply was restored to the entire country between 10:25 p.m. and 12:20 a.m.
