The most conventional way to approach the topic of climate change is through forums and discussions. But another more engaging way is to organize a poster competition where youths can portray their understanding of Climate Change through Art. That's the approach the University of the West Indies took and today 4 winners were recognized for their works of Art depicting the effects of Climate Change. 1st place winner 14 year old Pedro Bernal says it took him 3 weeks the finish his painting but it was all worth it.
1st place winner Pedro Bernal received $300, 2nd place winner Caitlyn Tillett from St. Catherine's Academy got $200, 3rd place winners Class 4A1 from Gwen Lizarraga High School got $100 while 4th place Neeraj Pagarani from the Belize High School received $50. The Belize Country Conference on Climate Change will be held tomorrow and Tuesday the 29th at the UWI open campus.
