It was a stabbing in front of thousands at last week's Elephant Man concert
and some even say it happened while the entertainer was on the stage.
Police say the victim Leon Soberanis was uncooperative but they tracked
down his attacker and today marched Andre Trapp to court. Trapp was formally
charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, and dangerous harm
for stabbing Soberanis to the neck after an argument.
And there was more as Andre Trapp who is only 19 also had to answer for
shooting at Godfrey Hemsley back on February 3rd. He was slapped with extra
and separate charges of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, wounding,
and aggravated assault with a firearm for that incident. The report from police
is that Hemsley was at the corner of Yarborough road and Albert Street when
he fired at Hemsley and pointed a gun in the face of Kenroy Humes.
In total the 19 year old was read 7 indictable offenses and because a firearm
was alleged to have been used in the second offence, under the law, he was denied
bail. His next hearing is on May 12th.
