BSI Factory Manager John Gillett Quits
posted (March 12, 2015)
John Gillett is well known as the factory manager at the BSI Tower Hill Factory - but credible reports tonight tell us that he is no longer there, and that he has abruptly resigned. This comes after he and another senior staffer, Jamil Matar were placed on administrative leave yesterday until further notice. That may seem pretty stern for two staffers who have been at BSI a combined total of over 70 years, but, the decision came down from a pair of ASR managers who were brought in to conduct an investigation into the yearly sale of scrap metals.

Apparently, a costly transformer - which was not scrap - went missing during this period - and Gillett and Matar are being blamed for it. Now, we stress, they are not being accused of taking or doing anything with the transformer; but they are being held responsible because they were in charge of securing it.

Gillett - who has been at BSI for over 40 years - and is in the most senior operational post appears to have taken the accusation and the decision to place him on administrative leave as an affront and resigned this morning. Matar - who is the engineering manager - has not done the same.

We note that one low level employee - a person who loads the sugar barge - was already fingered for the theft of the transformer and terminated.

The story is major news in the north because Gillett - who is a crooked Tree resident is considered an institution at Tower Hill.

BSI had no comment today.
