He Home Invaded Central Bank Governor’s House
posted (March 12, 2015)
22 year-old Kevin Crawford is on remanded tonight awaiting sentencing after he was convicted today before Chief Magistrate of invading the home of the Governor of the Central Bank in broad daylight and robbing the place while the maid was on duty.

Crawford, a 6th form student, stood tried before Chief Magistrate Smith, in which the maid testified that on October 9, 2012, she was at the house of her boss, Glen Ysaguirre, when someone rang the doorbell. She went to answer, and that's when she saw a young man at the door who claimed that he had some documents belonging to Ysaguirre.

The maid claims that it was at this point that the young man ambushed her, and forced his way into the house. He managed to overpower her, and he then tied her up in one of the rooms upstairs. Shortly after that, then packed up several of Glen Ysaguirre's personal belongings, including electronics, computers, cellular phones, money. The maid claims that the young man also robbed her of her cellular phone, and that's when he fled from the house. In her testimony, she also identified Crawford as the assailant who committed this crime.

After reviewing all the evidence, Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith concluded that the prosecution proved its case against Crawford, and she found him guilty. She has given Crawford and his attorney an opportunity to make a mitigation plea, on next week Monday.
