And to add to all the flood related craziness already going on in the city, on Sunday - a massive crocodile was found in the KHMH compound. The nine-foot crocodile is believed to have come out of a massive drain that connects the KHMH to Saint Thomas Street.
His appearance in the KHMH back yard near the morgue at midday caused traffic to be blocked for hours - as a throng of spectators converged at the back fence of the KHMH. Eventually, a group of fearless bystanders decided to capture him. After they could not snare him with a volleyball net, they snagged him with a tow-strap, managed to tie him, and duct taped his mouth. But the croc put up a mighty fight - until he was handed over to the police. They took him in their bus, and didn't charge him for a mischievous act or wandering abroad; instead the croc was handed over to ACES, the American Crocodile Education Sanctuary.
