31 year-old Police Constable Hector Esquivel is on remand at the Belize Central Prison tonight after he was taken to court for allegedly engaging in intercourse with an under-aged girl.
The child, a 14 year-old, told police that on Sunday, November 1, Esquivel had sex with her, and after her report was investigated, and police arrested and charged him for unlawful sexual intercourse.
That's not a bailable offence, and so, Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer remanded him until December 18.
