What's going to happen the 30+ Cubans stuck at the Belize Central Prison? That's the question the Government of Belize will have to answer at some
point because they are very much like the 4,000 Cubans stranded between Costa Rica Nicaragua. They all want to make it to the United States, and
according to the Guatemalan Government a resolution may be forthcoming in the near future.
As we told you, the Guats say that a decision has been made to airlift the stranded Cubans to El Salvador, where they will be put on buses to cross
from Guatemala into Mexico, and then finally into the US.
So, will these Cubans incarcerated in the Belizean prison be a part of the group allowed to pass? Well, when we spoke with Acting Prison CEO Virgilio
Murrillo today, he told us that he has heard the very same reports we had, but nothing officially has come to him or the Prison on instructions for
these Cubans. He told us that the Magistracy or the Supreme Court would have to issue a removal order for these jailed Cuban migrants to be released.
We understand that the Cubans behind bars have retained Leo Bradley Jr. to intercede on their behalf. We're told that he is currently out of the
country and we couldn't reach him for comment today
