37 year-old Ernest Foreman and 28 year-old Samantha Garbutt were taken to court for over 1 and half kilos of marijuana.
Police and the K9-Unit conducted a raid on the couple's house at #4 Casuarina Street in Belize City. That's where they found a small bit of loose
cannabis, and under the flooring of one of the bedrooms, they found 15 plastic bags containing other amounts of weed. When the officers weighed all the
drugs, it totaled 1.637 kilos - or 3.6 pounds - of marijuana.
They were both arrested and charged with drug trafficking and possession of a controlled drugs, and they were arraigned today before Senior Magistrate
Sharon Frazer. They pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on bail of $5,000. They must return to court on February 26.
