Earlier this week, the biggest news was about police constable Luke Moreira who was charged for raping a woman in the san Ignacio police station. And while the police department is still reeling from the embarrassment of this allegation, tonight, another cop is facing an ugly charge. Twenty-six year old police constable Kyle Serrano is accused of the sexual assault of a 13 year old girl - and he's accused of doing it three times! It happened in San Pedro Town where Serrano was posted. The girl and her mother told police that on November 27 and on December 3, Serrano had inappropriate physical contact with her. She also reported that between November 1 and November 30, he put his private part on her body.
Today when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser where he was pleaded not guilty to 3 counts of sexual assault. The prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that the offences are of a serious nature and the complainant is a minor. Senior Magistrate Fraser upheld the objection and remanded Serrano into custody until January 26.
