This morning, we received word that a group of high-ranking military officers were heading to the Sarstoon River, and this evening, the Government
Press Office confirmed why.
National Security Minister John Saldivar, Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister, Frank "Pawpa" Mena, and the top brass of the police
and BDF went to the Joint Forces Forward Operating Base being built at the mouth of the Sarstoon River to check on progress.
Seen here, the building' frame was already constructed, and the contractors were moving apace with their work to complete it. A press release from the
Government says, quote, "On site the delegation was able to appreciate the rapid pace at which the construction is proceeding. Elements of the BDF have
set up temporary installations at the site as the work progresses."
