So now while the PUP line up in the House of Representatives is pretty much set – Briceno now has to get things organized inside the party. There are
several vacant positions on the national executive, and Briceno is right now meeting with various "politicos" to see if he can fill those posts. Senior
among all those is Cordel Hyde. Briceno has said on more than one occasion that Hyde will assume a key position in the party – but just what is that
position? This evening Briceno told us he is still trying to figure out what that role will best suit Hyde.
Hon. John Briceno - PUP Party Leader
"At the last national executive meeting, one of the items that was discussed in the executive was the restructuring of the executive. There are certain
post that were not filled in, that are open and some that were left open because of the election; for instance Honourable Kareem Musa, he was the
deputy communications director but now he is a deputy leader, so that position is open. So I spoke to the executive, the national executive gave me the
authority to meet with different people to see how best we can fit a national executive that would allow us to be able to reach as many people within
the party, all the talented people that we have and to reach out. A part of that mandate was that I am to speak with Cordel and to find a meaningful
post for him, one that would recognize his seniority in the party; the amount of years he has served in the National Assembly and also recognise his
talent, ability, what he represents, the constituency he represents we have a lot of hope in Cordel."
Briceno said he met with Cordel Hyde this morning.
