posted (March 10, 2016)
33 year old Jamal Young, better known as "Bounty," or "DVD guy", was one of two persons who were injured during a high speed chase on Mahogany Street last Saturday. The incident occurred shortly after midday. Young was in the area making some DVD sales when he heard the distinctive sound of gunshots. The peddler said he felt a sharp pain to his left leg and was knocked down by the fleeing vehicle. Police were in hot pursuit of a vehicle that ran a checkpoint. When police finally caught up with the vehicle, they searched it and found nothing more than an expired license.

However the accident has left Jamal Young with a broken leg and the other individual, a fast food delivery-man, with injuries to his chest. Now subjected to a wheel chair, Young is at a loss as to how he will maintain his only daughter. He told us about his plight:

Victor Young, Father of alleged shooting victim
"From the story that I got, the police were chasing some people in a car. He was on Mahogany Street going about his business and the police were firing shots apparently and the car swerve into him, because they were chasing, knocking his down and he ended up with a broken foot. He have a hole through his foot where the doctor is saying couldn't be caused by the car - could be a bullet that caused it."

"Because I saw a red boy who was going to ACC was the trigger man. He was excited to shoot the gun. When the GSU was in front the water spot, the next young man got bang too and hurt. He thought that he broke his chest, but it was fractured and he was trying to tell the same guy that was shooting to stop because he is not with them."

"I was just passing, working on my cycle selling DVD. Because somebody call me for DVD. So I went and when I jumped the bump, I got this thing in my foot."

That is putting a straining on my mother and father, because I am the bread winner and I have my cycle that I use to drop them off. But the policeman haven't come yet to tell me anything, like they are trying to hide something from me."
