Delegations from both Belize and Guatemala have been in meetings in Washington DC discussing a protocol for the Sarstoon River. After more than 5 hours of discussion, the meeting concluded at 6:22 pm, Belize Time.
The Guatemalan delegation left the OAS Main building in Washington DC upbeat and satisfied that both sides had moved towards building peace. Those were the words used by Foreign Minister Carlos Raul Morales as he denied us an interview. Jules Vasquez is at the OAS Building right now waiting for the Belize Delegation to hear what's in that agreement for the Sarstoon mechanism and we'll have that for you during tonight's news.
